Singletrack junkies, technical guru's, downhill demons and climbing gods rejoice - the next round of the 2011 RRP Midlands XC Series is nearly upon us! But you'd better be quick, pre-entries are pouring in for round 3, taking place at the quintessential Midlands XC venue - Hanchurch Woods, near Stoke-on-Trent on Sunday 10th July. Online entry available here.

Nestled minutes from J15 of the M6, these private woods contain a plethora of fine trails that are mixed together to form a fantastic race course that has been many people's favourite of the series in previous years. The race is able to take place thanks to the kind permission of Lord Stafford. At his request, we will be collecting donations for Macmillan Cancer Support, so have some spare change with you upon arrival!

With singletrack that requires finesse and fast reactions, plus climbs that need skill rather than just brute power, Hanchurch is a true all-rounders course. It may be the Midlands, but it certainly isn't flat! And if the delights of the trail fairies work such as 'the perimeter' and 'x-pro's ledge' aren't enough to tempt you to race, you should still head over to cheer the local riders on as they compete to win the fastest Stoke Mtber trophy.

In the arena BETD Goldtec will have a feast for your eyes with a selection of their British made bling, while Alfresco catering will have a home-made feast for your stomach! Cycle Shack will be on hand to keep your bike in fine fettle, and Sports Therapy Leicester will be hands on providing sports massage for tired legs and aching backs.

Please note: Riding is only allowed at Hanchurch Woods on race day. Please don't jeopardise the future of the event by riding at the venue at any other time.

P.S. Don't forget your number board, 12 and under's races are entry on the day only, follow us here for the latest news and remember to thank the Grimey Lymies for marshalling - the race couldn't happen without them!
