After the great success of the 1st Night of the Knobbly Tread event last October, regular Mountain Bike promoters the West Drayton MBC have confirmed the event is back again for 2012 thanks to the kind permission of Bucks County Council.

This year thanks to the generous sponsorship from Exposure lights who are back sponsoring the event for a second year some great prizes will be on offer and the event has been renamed The Exposure Night of the Knobbly Tread, the event fills a gap in the market as most of the traditional night time events are usually long Endurance event but this is a short night time cross country race featuring both a fun event for those yet to sample the intense buzz of racing in the dark and an open event for those experienced night time racers. With the races being close to Halloween, in addition to the prizes for the first across the line and age related prizes there will be prizes for the riders sporting the best fancy dress.

As well as generous sponsorship from Exposure lights, the event is being supported by Go Ape, Party Lights and club sponsors Beyond Mountain Bikes so those on the podium should be going home with some very nice goodies.

Race distances are 15miles for the open event 9 miles for the fun race with the open event starting at 7:30 p.m  and the fun event follows on after, the circuit is  a fast twisting 3 mile circuit that will be a mixture of wide forest tracks and tight single track. Good lights are required!

John Cookson from Exposure lights states the feedback from last years event was so good and the event had a real buzz so we are delighted to get involved again. There are very few short night time cross country races and the Black Park venue always produces circuits which encourage close intense racing and once again it will be nice to see some new riders sampling the thrill of racing in the dark.

As always John and the team from Exposure will be on hand with their latest wares and to give advice on lighting systems

Richard Sawkins managing director of party lights states 'this race gives our company an ideal opportunity to support local sport and also allows us the chance to show of some of the products we can supply to those looking for lighting at special events and we are looking forward to once again helping to run such a popular event

Wayne from Go Ape, we have a great affinity with people that organise sporting events at this venue where we run a multi activity centre and feel that this exciting event is an event that is synonymous with our companies aims and are pleased to be able to support it.

It is hoped to create a party atmosphere at the event with free hot dogs and drinks being handed out to all competitors at the prize giving.
