Night of the Knobbly Tread Preview

With just over 3 weeks to go to the West Drayton Mountain Bike promotions the Night of the Knobbly Tread on October 22nd and the Black Park Duathlon on the 23rd October the courses for the events have been finalised.

The Night race is a choice of 3 laps of a 3 mile circuit for fun riders with the open event which includes a separate veterans category over 5 laps for a race distance of 15 miles. The circuit features all the best parts of previous events at the venue and some fast racing is anticipated. 

Start times are Fun category 7pm and the Open category 7:50pm with sponsorship from Exposure lights, Beyond Mountain Bikes and Party lights a good prize list is guaranteed. With the races being close to Halloween, in addition to the prizes for the first across the line and age related prizes there will be prizes for the riders sporting the best fancy dress. Entry on the day will be available subject to space.

The following days duathlon has already attracted a good entry with the race format being a 3 mile run cross country run followed by a 12 mile off road bike route and then a further 3 mile cross country run, Sponsorship for this event is from The Sweat Shop, Windsor and supported by RRP.

Entry on the day will be once again be available subject to space. Start time 10am. Black Park Country Park Near to Slough is close to the M25 and is an easy accessible venue and some fast furious racing is going to be the order of the day around the MTB circuit which is a mixture of fast flowing single track and forest trails.
