race details:
The Soggies return to Newnham Park Shooting Ground, which means hard standing parking, nicer loos, indoor registration and cafe plus the usual Soggy Bottom attractions. We will have a bike wash this year as well.
Course Update:
Course is pretty wet and the forecast is wet. The lap is just over 3.2 miles long to reflect the damp conditions. The main climb is well surfaced and will be rideable, then it's below bombholes through bluebell woods the best way, through bombholes, down cottage return, across bridge into arena field, along field edge, into plantation up top side of Shred splitter, down pipeline return, through concrete river crossing (there is a bridge at the side), back to finish area. We have mainly used existing well bedded trail for this round to make the track more rideable. There is one river crossing and one bridge crossing.
Accelerade will be exhibiting at round 1 with free samples for all and will also be providing prizes. Plymouth Cyclescene will also be in attendance.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PRACTICE BEFORE RACE DAY- THEY ARE SHOOTING AND THEY GET VERY UPSET WHEN LYCRA APPEARS IN THEIR SIGHTS!!
