Enduro 6 Night Time Trial 2010

For the past 3 years this event at Catton Park, has been on my events to do list! I always enjoy racing in the dark, using my superb Maxx Exposure. These lights are essential and have always been 100% reliable.

The weather forecast wasn't looking very cheerful, so when we arrived at Catton, we were quite surprised that there was not a drop of the wet stuff!

Niall and I headed out for a spin round the 6 mile course at about 5pm. The course was the best Catton course yet, but also the toughest too!

The night time trial was a t 8pm and the line up had a number of strong riders, so I wasn't expecting to get a 1st place like last year, but would ultimately go my hardest.

My start time was 8:17, by now it was pretty damm chilly, but it didn't take long to get the blood flowing. The first half of the lap I didn't probably need my lights, except for the densely wooded areas.

I managed my lap incident free, but had no real idea as to how I had done. Niall also finished without any calamities. Results were not given out that evening but would be posted up early in the morning.

The morning came, after nearly getting blown away in the night!! And the result's board revealed that Wiggle's Lee Williams was the winner with a lightening lap time, then Dave Collins, followed by myself, just piping Niall to the final podium spot.

I finished the weekend with 2nd place in the main enduro, which I was pleased with, especially after bonking big time around the 4 hour mark (no one to blame but myself!!)

A great weekend racing for myself and for the team with 3 podiums for Gary Fisher 29er's!!

Now my next race will be at round 2 at Wasing, and im not quite sure how last weekend's 6 hour enduro will have enhanced or hindered my training!!

Thanks once again to my sponsors
