Right, sorry for the delays but we do now have confirmed dates for the series for next year:
Saturday 11th Feb 2012 - Margam Park
Saturday March 10th - TBC
April 1st Sunday - Abergavenny
May 6th Sunday - Fforest Fields - Builth Wells
August 17th- 19th Welsh champs weekend XC - Abergavenny

sorry for the delayed reply. Chepstow race course had a change of heart so we won't be racing there next year unfortunately-maybe one for the future?
We do realise that the dates aren't perfect in terms of clashes but it's so difficult (in fact I'd say impossible) to avoid clashes completely. Hopefully we have at least avoided clashing with anything too close (geographically).

really sorry but we have had issues with one of the venues which means we may have to swap some of the rounds.
I will confirm everything as soon as possible and as soon as it is confirmed, entries will open.
Again, really sorry but we are having a bit of a nightmare-we keep thinking we have everything confirmed and then another issue crops up.

From what I hear, 11 Feb is still pencilled in for round 1, dunno about the venue, with round 2 on 4 March, probably, maybe
I don't think the dates will be changing but the venues will do we're still waiting to here for definite & when entries open?
Best be quick though as first race in less than 4 weeks

Hi guys,
Firstly, the series is still going ahead. We have had a bit of a nightmare sorting out venues and dates but we are now just waiting for the events to be activated on the BC calendar (they have to check all of the details are correct before they go live).
I realise that this is really late notice for the first round in three weeks time and it's not the way we had planned it but there wasn't anything that we could do about it. Everything just takes a bit longer when there are more parties involved in organising and we have had to change dates and venues around a fair bit due to circumstances beyond our control.
Dates and venues are 99.9999% confirmed as follows:
Saturday 11th March Margam Park
Sunday 4th March Glanusk estate
Sunday 1st April TBC (just waiting for Forestry approval)
Sunday 6th Fforest Fields
Hopefully the entry will open today or Monday on the BC site.
Again, apologies for the late notice. Hopefully you will all still come and ride-we should have some great courses and definitely have some great support from sponsors and so on so with you guys the series should be bigger and better then last year!

presumably that 99.9999% confirmed first date should read Saturday Feb 11, and the final date doesn't show a month.
Last year we had lots of news and releases and tried really hard to support the series...does feel that news is a lot thinner on the ground this year unless BC have been running all the news (apologies if I missed that) now they are doing online entry. Good luck with it

Hi Scott, the entry page says round 2 is Dolgellau whereas you've said Glanusk up there ^^ (4 days ago). Which is right? Also, any clue as to a location for round 3: "Wales" is a bit too vague to consider entering yet...are we talking south, mid or north wales?

Right. The paperwork for the BC site was sent in a while ago before we changed the two venues around so Round 2 will be in Abergavenny and Round 3 will be in Coed y Brenin (assuming that the final permission comes through ok-no reason to assume it won't). The BC calendar should be corrected soon.

It is going to be interesting to see what the plans are for the margam coarse? I have just had a quality interval session on the new sections i made in the park of the past couple of years,and they are holding up very well,even with the very wet winter we have been having, but like most people who have raced the last two national points know,if it is wet it gets very,very slick!!!!;)
Ok let's start the "what tyre" choice, here's mine
1. Very wet 2.00 rocket Ron front & rear @ 27 psi
2. Intermediate 2.25 rocket rons front & rear @ 32psi rear 30 psi front
3. Bone dry 2.00 tufo tubulars @ 35 psi front & rear
Taffy-hopefully we'll be able to meet up and take advantage of your knowledge of Margam. I have a few ideas of where I want the course to go but it'd be good to get your input.
Neil 123-Having watched and ridden the course at the BMBS for the last couple of years, I'd say if it's very wet, as much grip as you can get! :-) Anyone who rode the descents 2 years ago took minutes out of riders who were falling off on every one.
That would be no problem at all Scott just email me when you can make it and i'll show you around.
As for grip, i cant agree with Scott enough, if it is wet i will be using something with a lot more grip than a rocket ron on the back and probabley a x king on the front, but,if we have a couple of dry days leading up to it(wishful thinking) i will use x king on front and back. i was one of the people making time on the descents that scott mention ,but getting a kicking on the long climb!!!!:(
does anyone know if there will be camping on the friday night at Margam?
There will be camping available on the Friday night at Margam. Obviously you'd want to be careful with what you do with your bike after recent years' issues.
