Thanks to SMBC and UK-Biking for this event. The course was easy to follow, varied and tough, not much time to get your breath back! The right length too, I remember Wasing being just a couple of minutes too short. Pleased the course held up even with those showers, and nice that the sun came out to warm us up again! The U11 / U9 course was good too, enough challenging features and the 2 laps for Under 9s seemed good again. Looking forward to next year!
It was certainly a tough course - absolutely relentless sprinting out of all those flat corners! I was hanging by the last lap.
Great course, lovely venue. Rode the practice lap and thought it was a bit tame, WRONG! Proper hard work, well done.
Today I remembered the only thing that was wrong with the track... in the place where there was an A line and a B line, it seemed to me impossible to enter the A line with any speed on that tricky slippery descent with immediate left turn, then it was uphill on the roots. The result was that the simple and quite direct B line was faster! Unfortunately I only figured this out during the race, when I took the A line and the guys behind me ended up in front. This was confirmed by a friend who had run a test the day before.
I'm a bit late with this, thanks to a few IT issues (my laptop died!) but here's my practice lap video. Due to the inclement weather and very dark woods there a a couple of black sections, but you'll get the idea
