My weeks training dairy, this week has been my best week of training of 2014 by a long way!
As with Donna and team mate Louise my biking has to fit in with day to day life, which has a tendency to get in the way, between 2 children and a recent change in my work pattern it has been very difficult to get any good riding done. Any way on to my week!

Monday - After work at about 6 I got out for a 2 hour hilly road ride, to be honest every ride I do is hilly due to the lack of flat roads in mid wales. Legs felt pretty good as I had not raced on the Sunday.

Tuesday - Today I decided a couple hours on the mtb was the way to go. So I went into the local forestry which is about a mile from my front door! I managed 2:20 hrs of riding in some cracking conditions. Again legs were feeling good.

Wednesday - I got home slightly later tonight and got on the bike at about 7 I planned a hillclimb repetition ride tonight. I use a 2 mile climb which is has average gradient of 8% I completed 3 reps + the ride out and back home. 1:30hrs

Thursday - Today I was feeling quite tired after yesterday's hill reps, so it was an 1:20hrs on the mtb!

Friday - Rest day due to having a really big weekend planned!

Saturday - Today was the second round of the welsh XC series in builth wells. I completed my race in just over an hour and managed to take the win in the masters! That wasn't the end of it for the day I had entered the exposure lights night marathon, which was a 40km night ride and a great chance to put my exposure lights into action! I decided to stick to my own pace and try not to get carried away with the other riders in the group! I ending up been 3rd back behind Nick Craig and Neal Crampton and felt pretty good, this was another 1:30hrs ish done!

Sunday - Today I was going to attempt the Scott spring marathon which was probably pushing my luck a bit! I had decided to ride until I was about cooked and then call it a day, I managed this
and was on the bike for just over the 3 hour mark, which was as much as I wanted!
A cracking weekends racing which was a major challenge for me!

In total I did 12:40hrs on my bike this week, which is my best week for a long time!

On average I probably manage about 6hrs a week which includes a couple runs. Training with a family and full time job generally requires a lot of early mornings and late nights! But I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it!
