Black Park Summer XC 2017

After the venue being part of the Southern XC series for the last two years the West Drayton MBC/Specialized team are this year running a stand alone cross country MTB event on the 4th June.

The club who have been organising MTB events since the 1990's will be catering for all standards at the event, which thanks to the kind permission of Bucks County Council will be held at Black Park Country Park, which is located between Slough and Uxbridge and is easily accessible from the M40/M25 and M4.

The club have worked hard at the venue with the course evolving over the 10 years of promotion at the venue and now features some superb twisty single track as well as a number of bomb holes and is technical despite the lack of elevation which makes for fast close racing.

To start the day off at 9.30 a.m. the club will use a sanitised circuit for the beginner races which will be suitable for cyclo cross bikes, then there will be races for under 8's/under 10's and under 12's on a small separate circuit which will start at 10:15, these races will be based on times rather than laps with the winner the rider completing the most laps in a set time with the main races starting at 10:45, starting off with the Elites/Experts, Sports, Veterans, Grand Veterans/Super Veterans and Fun starting at 1 min intervals with all the women classes starting together at 10:52. The event will be run under British Cycling rules and ranking points allocated.

The venue is based in a country park with other activities available for all the family Thanks to main sponsorship from club sponsor The Specialized Concept Store Ruislip and additional support from M Property solutions/Tri UK and the www.buckssportive.co.uk there will be a generous prize list as well as trophies and medals Lap length will be approx 3 miles
