Enjoy the picturesque warm up along the river Yar cycle path - its the only flat bit of trail you will see until you return The downland trails are punctuated with big views, big hills and big thrills as you wend your way east towards Shorewell and its chute.

Here the course splits and heads north to the interior with views over Carisbrooke Castle and to the mainland on a clear day. The Tennyson trail marks the turn for home - the final ascent to Brook Down provides a suitable finale to a big day out with views across Freshwater Bay and its distinct white chalk cliffs.
