Southern XC 2013 Round 6 Venue Confirmed

As the crow flies it is probably only about a mile from Crow Hill so expect similar terrain with well drained soil on high ground with short sharp hills and lots of twisty singletrack. 

There is a permanent cycle track at the centre so the trails are well maintained and any low boggy areas have been bridged with boardwalks There is even a technical North Shore section which we will be using. The course circulates the perimeter of the 65 acre estate and we will be using the full blue and red routes plus a few extra trails to add some distance. We are will modify the circular course into a C-shape so we don't have to cross the entrance road and to get some extra distance. The arena will be on the Sports field below the main mansion house which is central to the course and the start is uphill on gravel road leading into wide woodland trails. We then double back onto the official start of the red route, skirting the estate before dropping fast downhill into woodland and skirting the lakes below the arena. Then its into the tough section with repeated short climbs and descents in the woods followed by the North Shore section. There is even a Pump Track and Gravity Track with berms, table tops, jumps and rollers  which will add some excitement towards the end of the lap.  

It's a great fun course and will be deceptively tough to race at speed, it is also a great course for spectators and also has great possibilities for our best Under 11's course of the series as there is a nice piece of woodland right close to the arena.

Also please be aware that if your sat nav takes you through a private track off the Ringwood, Bransgore Road, please turn back as there is no access through this way (it is a dead end and a private driveway).  Please ensure you enter the site via the Bransgore, Burley Road as this is the only route.
