As the weather gets wetter, the racing is drying up. The nights are drawing in and racers are drawing a line under the 2013 season.

But fear not, I'm here to to ease you into winter with a month of thrice weekly features to combat the symptoms of withdrawal from dry, dusty trails and World class, kick-ass racing.

I shall be taking you through an alphabet of XC racing, starting with the 2013 opening World Cup venue of Albstadt and ending with this season's World Cup winner, Tanja Zakelj. Start the week with an easy read about the history and highlights of our sport's venues, races, people and various other gems!

'What We're Wearing this Winter' will bring you a taster of what riders are donning for the chilly months ahead. Not the professionals, but the people I come across day-to-day as I travel about the UK and Europe. A fun little fashion feature about friendly folk like YOU!

The final weekly feature will be 'The Friday Photograph'. My favourite photo of the week, accompanied by a little explanation of what and where it is. Simple.

I've been writing for xcracer.com all summer on a freelance and ad hoc basis, reporting from the British National MTB series and the World Cups, and writing up interviews and other articles.
'Anna's October on XCRacer' is the beginning of more contributions to the site from me; regular articles, on-going features and working more closely with the team to bring you exciting, interesting content, and more of it!

Let us know what you like and be sure to keep popping back to the site to check out all the new stuff.
