Beach Breaker is Back

Beach Breaker is back for its second year on Sunday 19th June 2016. Described last year as a tough exciting off road MTB race, we have made some additions this year to cement Beach Breaker as a must in the mountain bike/ fat bike /cyclo cross calendar.
Firstly we have moved the race to the stunning location of Woolacombe Warren, which overlooks Woolacombe Beach, recently voted No1 in the UK by Trip Advisor. The uniqueness of the area makes for a really spectacular course, combining the vicious climb up the Southfork Special Stage - Potters Hill, the rewarding views over Woolacombe Beach, before the breathtaking descent into the Burrows below Marine Drive. The thrills and spills of the course will make it not only challenging for the competitors, but also a fantastic race for spectators. Car parking, refreshments and toilets are on site and with the Beach and the town of Woolacombe metres away, it certainly is a perfect destination for a mountain bike race.
Beach Breaker Extreme is 5 laps x 4.5km (90 mins)
Beach Breaker is 4 laps.
This year we are proud to not only be part of the Southwest XC Series, but also Beach Breaker is holding the Regional Championships: As a result of this, everyone receives double points for this race, which makes participation essential for competitors of the Southwest Series. We have also partnered with British Cycling.
We have for the first time introduced a junior race u8 - u14 which will take place on its own specially designed course: Kids races are proving very popular and makes it a much more inclusive day for families.

Charity
Croyde Ocean Events last year raised over £8,000 for various charities. This year we hope to raise more for our chosen charities: The Seamoor Chemotherapy Unit, Barnstaple, The National Trust and RNLI.South West MTB XC Series 2016
