I am sure a full blog will be along shortly, so I thought I would pitch in with a few pictures on an excellent weekend's racing where Team Certini showed their class in the Open Mixed, taking the win ahead of the Xcracer.com/Team Appleyard composite.  We will get you next year Mr and Mrs Horton!!!!

Phil Morris was recovered after an unlucky race at the nationals in the previous weekend and clocked some fast laps, including a 41min lap when he really should have been more tired.

The Xcracer.com team pit was alive and well at Bontrager with Midlands XC organiser James showing off an original Bontrager 24/12 shirt designed by no less than Paul Smith.

The Trek/Bontrager team put on an excellent fire pit to warm us through when the evening was cooling down.  They also tried to lead many people astray with talk of tequila shots on Friday night.  I settled for a Fursty Ferret which after the beer and cheese at registration added significantly to the entertaining banter with SIP events.

We were powered throughout the day by Accelerade 4:1, (bike) lubed by Squirt dry lube and photographed at the Bontrager tent.

Team Appleyard's top Masters racer Verity Appleyard elevated the professional level of the Xcracer team with the addition of warm up bike and turbo trainer.  Back to amatuer next weekend....

It's hard to explain how good Exposure lights are, but this picture does a pretty good job.  What does a thousand lumens output look like?  (As an aside, my fastest lap was equalled at 4am, in darkness and armed with a 2011 Maxx-D and a diablo I dragged out another 45min lap, these lights are seriously impressive).

And before we knew it, it was Sunday and all over.  Wish I could have stayed around and helped with that Trek Tequila but it took 9hrs and a few sleep stops to get back to Harrogate..

Keep an eye on Xcracer.com and www.twentyfour12.com for upcoming videos, blogs and pictures.
