Less than 2 ½ months before our first 2014 event will open its doors in Ashton Court, Bristol.
The 13th Bristol Bikefest supported by Ritchey and Heritage Volkswagen will take place as always at the beginning of June – on the 7-8th June to be precise.

After a steady start, the entries are now coming in at a rather constant rate slowly filling up the various categories. But fear not all categories are still available with only the 12 hour solos coming towards their capacity.

Don’t forget that we have reduced the entry fees for the teams and that you can get yourself a nice little discount if you spend over certain amounts. Details can be found on our entry page.

To make things a little bit more interesting we have added a couple of extra categories for 2014. Say hello to the ‘Young’uns’ (minimum age 14 years – average age 14-17 years) and to the ‘Proper Old Gits’ (minimum age 14 years – average age 50+). And finally the minimum age for riders has gone down to 14 years (don’t forget that we will need the consent of the parents here).

And finally – as it looks we will not be having day entries at the 2014 event - so don’t delay entering any further and make sure you get into the category you want now. To enter simply go to our entry page

Red Bull’s ‘Red Jersey’ is coming
For 2014 we have teamed up with Red Bull to add a little spice to the Bikefest and will give the riders the opportunity to prove themselves in the ‘Red Jersey – race within the race’ challenge.

We will allocate a section of the Bikefest course to this event and on reaching this most technical and energy sapping segment all competitors will pass under the rousing Red Bull arch to strive to set the fastest time.

This tough but motivational section will be timed in addition to the overall race time, meaning whether or not winning the race is within reach, the chance to win the coveted Red Jersey is up for grabs!

The competitor with the fastest time recorded in this section of the course will receive the coveted Red Jersey and a priceless experience with The Athertons.

The ‘Red Bull Red Jersey’ challenge will not costs any extra and if you are not interested in being the fastest in that section then simply carry on as normal and enjoy the ride.

We haven’t made a firm decision on what section of the course we will be using for this challenge but be assured that it will have as little as possible impact on the normal running of the Bikefest and on riders who want to focus on their laps rather than the ‘Red Jersey’. If you have any great suggestions please drop us a line to news@bike-fest.com. The best suggestion will be rewarded with some Red Bull schwag and a free entry to the event!

See you in June.
