This years Bucks Off Road Sportive, the 16th edition of the event is now open for on line registration for the event which is to be held on the 11th May 2014.

The event which was inspired by club riders riding the popular Hell of the North Cotswolds and they decided to run a local event starting in Buckinghamshire with the distances growing from the original 30 km route to the current longest distance of 132km

The headquarters is at the Chiltern sports and social club in Rickmansworth which allows riders to shower and make use of a fully licensed bar as well as a cheap supply of refreshments.

As the club wants to encompass all abilities this years event has 4 distances of approximately 35km , 75km,100 km and 132 , the toughness of the 100 and 132 km events should not be underestimated, although the hills in the Chilterns are not as high as those in other parts of the country the constant undulating climbs certainly take their toll and the single track can be tough going in places.

Last year the trails were in excellent conditions and some fast times were recorded with a certain George Budd, one of the first back despite being delayed by an ice cream van on route and we are hopeful for similar conditions this year.

Remember this event is not a race but a challenging ride with a mixture of bridleways and country lanes, each distance will have a set start time and is an ideal training event for those 24hr events coming up on the race calendar.

So what are you waiting for round up your mates and get those entries in.

Although entry on the day will be available subject to pre-entries we strongly recommend you pre enter to avoid disappointment
