After a slow start entries have started coming in for next Saturdays Exposure Night of the Knobbly Tread Race which has been brought forward this year from its usual October date to the 17th September.

The tracks at the moment are in great condition, with the new sections riding well, with good weather scheduled for the remainder of the week running up to Saturday fast furious and close racing will be the order of the day.

The promoting club have high hopes of seeing some team jerseys on the podiums with Southern XC Expert series winner and home rider Sam Edwards a favourite in the open event, whilst in the veterans, W.Drayton MBC Team mate Roger Fowkes is another man expected to be on the podium, whilst in the grand veterans Simon Slater returns to defend his 2015 title.

On line entry closes Wednesday but entry will be available for surcharge on the day.

The event is as usual being held at Black Park Country Park, which is situated between Uxbridge and Slough in West London and easily accessible being close to the M40, M4 and the M25.

The event goes away from the long endurance type of night time events and is a full speed flat out blast around the forest tracks and tight single track not forgetting the odd bomb hole with race distances ranging from 8 miles to 20 miles depending on ability.

The racing starts at 7.30 p.m. and some great prizes are on offer from Exposure Lights, The Specialized Concept Store in Ruislip and those on the podium will be well rewarded, as supplementing the prizes there will be champagne and unique trophies on offer.

It goes without saying that good lights are recommended and sponsors Exposure will be on hand to give advice at the venue and will be hiring lights to anyone needing extra candle power.

Anyone wanting a preview of the circuit can join a familiarisation ride the promoting club the West Drayton MBC will be organising this Tuesday meeting at Go Ape at 6.30p.m.

Although entry on the night is possible, this will be a premium to pre entry costs so take advantage of the cheaper pre entry fees and follow the On line entry link on the event website
