I've been running a double 2x10 setup this year but I may switch to 1x11 for next year and I was wondering what size front chainrings everyone are running?
I took a bike out today which had a 32t and it felt too easy, albeit it was on the road but it still felt like you could spin it out off road.

Cheers,

Dave

I've been running 1x11 on a 650b Scott Spark 720 for a year and a half now and normally run a 34t as I found myself spinning out more often than I was struggling for climbs. However, when I know I'm heading out for some big hills on an organised ride I can switch to a 32t and still run the same chain length with the SRAM X01 setup. Riding in Wales for example I would have liked another low gear even with the 32t but 90% of the time I can get away with a 34t up front on the stuff I ride (short sharp hills rather than long climbs).
