Hi guys,I have a 28/40 ratio,I usually ride with a high cadence and find for riding places like cannock/Woburn the 28t is a bit undergeared, Has anyone used a 30t instead
Yep, I'd say even a 30t would be slightly under geared round there. I use a 32T. Bear in mind if you have converted a double chainring crank that the chain line won't be great. A 28t is mounted on the inner bolt rings so am assuming it runs fine at the moment. As soon as it is mounted to the outer bolt rings with a 30 or 32T a smooth running chainline will be compromised and you will probably have to use spacers or buy a 1 x specific crank set.
Yes, my crank was a triple converted to a double with the 40 in the middle chainring position!!
I'm looking at going to 30t as the inner ring.
