On the 16th September the Numplumz Mountainbikers are organising a marathon ride starting from Wadenhoe, Northamptonshire. As you’d imagine, there is a distinct shortage of actual mountains around this area but don’t let this fool you into thinking it will be an easy day out!

There are a choice of two routes: 100K or 50K both beginning and ending in the same place. Riders will be sent a GPX file prior to the event for those that use cycle computers but, if you don’t have one there is no need to worry the course will also be fully sign posted.

Expect to ride on a mix of bridleways, quiet country lanes, cheeky singletrack sections and the odd few quiet roads. Those of you wanting a comfortable day out will probably want to be using a MTB but for those who fancy a challenge or some 3Peaks / CX season training then the route is all perfectly rideable on a CX bikes.

Out on course there will be two feed zones for the 100K and one for the 50K with a selection of cakes, bananas, biscuits and other goodies to keep you fuelled up throughout day. Oh and of course there will be water too!

The route then finishes back where it began. It’s at this point you can make your way down to the local pub where all riders entered before 10th September will be able to sit down and a enjoy a hog roast as part of their entry. What better way to finish a long day out on the bike!

Grab some friends and your bikes and come along to what is going to be a fitting finale to 2018’s summer cycling antics! A relaxed atmosphere and friendly faces guaranteed!
