The clock is ticking – just one month to go now.
It is beautiful out there with bluebells everywhere, wild garlic giving the trails a summery scent and with some lovely sunshine keeping the trails dry and fast. As we said must be Bikefest time soon.

Entry update:
The good weather has encouraged once again for riders to come out and pledge their allegiance to the Bikefest and have helped to fill up the various categories nicely. Most of the planned categories will go ahead with only a few being currently amalgamated.

Solo entries for the 12hour event have been closed for a little while but all other categories for Saturday and for Sunday are still available.

Most likely we will have day entries available (please keep your eyes on the website for last minute updates) but if you don’t pre-enter than we will not be able to guarantee you the finisher T-shirt or the Steve Worldand Memorial Cup cider glass….so get your entry in now via our entry page.

Steve Worland Memorial Cup:
honour or friend Steve Worland and to generate lots of money in his name for the two charitable courses Steve’s Partner Jo and his daughter Holly nominated, we have created the ‘Steve Worland ride singletrack hard & drink a swig of cider per lap memorial cup 2014’. We had lots of very positive comments about the event but so far only a few have entered this special event. Find all the details on the cup here.

Come on and get your entry in now and don’t forget that all proceeds will go to the two charities. Don’t forget to add ‘SWMC’ at the beginning of your team name so that we can distinguish your entry from the normal Bikefest event.

The run-time of the event has now been set to 9 hours and 23 minutes – so we are starting at 11.37am on Saturday and finish at 9pm. More details here.

Charity auction update:
Since the last update on the very exciting charity auction who’s takings will also go towards buying defibrillators for Ashton Court as well as to the Psoriasis Association Charity we have had many more donations and have formalised how things will work.

The following companies / brands have donated: Orange, Halfords, On-One, Sram, Nukeproof, Bike Park Wales, Merida, Marin, Ritchey, Mavic, Camelbak, Urge, 100%, KTM, Polaris, Fisher Outdoors, Surley, Halo, Upgrade, One Industries, Kona and Howies.

We are working on having our ‘Steve Worland Memorial Auction’ live on e-bay by the 11th May and it will finish on the event Sunday the 8th of June. Here we will auction off the bigger items like bikes, framesets, wheelsets and any other special items. The remaining items will be auctioned off at the event before as well as after the prize presentation on Saturday night. Everyone will be able to view the items during the day and even buy them there and then at the ‘buy now’ price. We will have further updates on the auction in the next few days.

Red Bull Red Jersey:
We announced a few weeks back that we will have the ‘Red Bull Red Jersey’ competition going on over the weekend (details here). We have now nominated the timed section for this event which will be announced during the briefing on Saturday (7th June) morning. But be assured we will have some music and some cider waiting for you at the end of it!

Event venue / catering / trade stands / DJ:

As always at the Bristol Bikefest we will have a broad selection of trade stands in and around our event village, lots of trackside camping and parking, the event bar which will be open Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday, some great tunes on Friday and Saturday night and some superb catering from Ian and his Luff Bus Team.

See you all in June.
