Selkirk down the toilet

This is going to be a fairly short blog and from my point of view just me feeling a bit sorry for myself!!

The last month has without a doubt been the worst ever when it comes to racing! I started the month with 2 races I was looking forward too. First up enduro 6 where I had 2 bikes nicked and the insurance are currently trying to screw me as well!! After almost deciding to call the season to an end there and then I decided that would be letting the scum that took my bikes win. So the credit card took a massive hammering. Armed with my new bike I was off to Selkirk for the Marathon champs, we decided to head up in the week to make a long weekend of it. Thanks to John and Bonna for allowing us to arrive early at the site. I went for a couple hours on the Friday and was feeling pretty good. Saturday started off fine but after supper thing took a turn for the worst and my stomach felt a bit dodgy. Not too worry I thought probably just pre- race nerves. Things soon went downhill with firstly my little boy being sick at about 2 in the morning; this is really not a pleasant experience in a caravan! My stomach still hadn't settled and I spent the next couple hours in very close proximity to the toilet!!
I did finally get to sleep at about 4:30 and got up for my porridge at 7 but had to go back to bed as I was just dead. I shouldn't have even considered lining up for the start, but the sun was out and I had travelled 7hrs for this bloody race!!

As for my race well it didn't happen, I rode for about an hour threw up a couple of times and nearly passed out!

At least I got to see the winners finish! Well done to fellow welsh man Lee Williams who finally took the win closely followed by Nick Craig and Dan Fleeman taking the final step on the podium!

Then to top it off I had to drive home feeling like death warmed up! That was a very long 7hrs!!!

I'm now just really hoping thing go slightly better this weekend at Hopton.

I have to also pass my thanks to Wiggle who have offered me a bike to use for the rest of the season, which was certainly a very nice gesture!

As always thanks to my sponsors:
