From the 24th to 29th July myself and husband stroke race partner Mark Spratt raced the Sudety Mountain Bike challenge. It started with a prologue, 7.2k hill climb and was followed by 5 tough stages varying from 102k to 56k over the Sudety mountains on the Czech Republic and Polish boarder.

It was a fantastic race which I recommend, well organised, alot of climbing and brilliant trails.

We had a lead of 30 seconds after the prologue and managed to maintain the lead winning the overall clasification for the six days of racing. It was never easy with alot of close racing in the mxed pairs, punctures, snapped chain and 5k diversion. We won the prologue and stasges 2 and 3 and finished second on stages 1, 4 and 5.

 Blog to follow shortly.

Lisa Kamphausen (wxc mountain bike team) was racing solo.  Ant White and Mike Blewitt paired up in the male pairs, Mike wrote daily blogs of the race at  MARATHONMTB.COM
