Long term Mountain Bike promoters the West Drayton MBC/Specialized Ruislip team go over to the dark side on the 28th Feb when they organise their 5th Bucks Road Sportive, a two distance road event of 100 or 85 km.

The event is ideal preparation for both roadies and MTBers alike with over 1000 Metres of climbing and features some of the iconic Chiltern Climbs including the Bedlow Ridge where no doubt a few riders will be wishing they had the MTB granny gear to rely on.

The event starts from the welcoming Chiltern Sports and Social Club in Maple Cross, which is a HQ used many times before for the clubs May event, the Bucks Off Road Sportive and where riders wishing to celebrate finishing can make use of a licensed bar.

The ride route will be available to be down loaded via a GPX file which will be sent to those pre entered and the route will be fully signposted and instructions will also be available at the HQ. Hot drinks/energy products/refreshments will be available both pre and post the ride.

The ride has been featured in the Evening standard as one of the 6 top winter events to take part in as below and is highly recommended.

On line entry which closes on the 22nd Feb is available on the link below ,although entry on the day is available for a surcharge.

Also look out for the next club event when the team revert to the off road scene when on the 20th March they promote the 1st round of the Southern XC Series at Black Park Country Park.
