Join in with the World Alternative Games on the 9/10th August

Whilst the eyes of the world turn to Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games, Mid-Wales will be hosting its very own World Alternative Games in the UK’s smallest town, Llanwrtyd Wells, this August.

Just as in Glasgow, the MTB world is well catered for at the World Alternative Games…and you are all invited to take part.

Saturday 9th August sees the two-day MTB challenge kick off with a choice of 60, 80 or monster 130km options to choose from. Then, on Sunday, riders will return with a choice of 30, 50 and 80km options all set within the stunning natural surroundings of the Crychan and Irfon forests.

Riders can expect everything from sublime singletrack to long flowing downhills, root infested technical sections and stunning views. Climbing legs will be needed of course as will a willingness to take on the challenge!

The weekend is fully supported with well-stocked feed stations, waymarked route, broom wagons and professional medical teams with camping available at £5 per tent.

Entry is just £15 per day with all finishers receiving a medal and complimentary pasta meal.

With all the attractions of the World Alternative Games taking place in Llanwrtyd Wells for the whole weekend, it is an ideal opportunity to bring the whole family for a fun weekend away with something for everyone – riders and non-riders alike - on offer.
