The West Drayton Mountain Bike clubs 2011 Black Park cross country event is fast approaching and the event now in its 6th year which is on the 13th March has attracted a number of top names, the event which caters for all standards including beginners features the Bucks offroad sportive sponsored Single speed event carrying a £150 cash prize for first place as well as the customary Single speed prize of a crate of Beer.

The two big names entered so far and likely to be battling it out to take the money are Matt Page and Rob Lee but neither are eligible to take the coveted title of London Single speed champion which will go the first rider living within the M25 boundary.

Thanks to generous sponsorship from the concept store in Ruislip, club sponsors Beyond Mountain Bikes, RRP and The feed station all categories have some great prizes to race for with last year Elite winner Jody Crawforth the firm favourite to take top honours once again this year. Go Ape have come up trumps for the youth winners who will get a free session on the high wire course in the park as part of the winners spoils.

The promoting club have already got 44 of their own members taking part a number of them racing for the first time so a sea of black and yellow jerseys are expected in the fun event. Conditions at the venue with a week to go are good with the course which is 3.5 miles long being firm and fast, there is a hard standing car park, proper toilets and catering close to the start within the park.

Online entry closes on the 9th March at midnight, but entry on the day will be available for surcharge.
