In association with Exposure Lights, Torq Fitness, Chelmer Cycles, Bike-Art, and Singletrack Magazine, this is the 10th Anniversary Dusk til Dawn - D2D.
Date: October 2nd-3rd 2010
This year's event will run from the High
Lodge Visitor's Centre allowing a host of comforts typically not
available. The Centre will remain open all night offering hot foods
from the café and access to indoor toilets that will be supplemented
with the typical port-a-loos. Bike-Art will also be open for the
duration of the event to provide bike product sales and support.
Finally, there will be water available on site, a bike wash, and free
parking for all competitors.
Solo entries cost £37, pairs are
£64, three-person teams are £96, and four-person teams are £128. Every
racer will receive a 10th Anniversary Marin D2D T-shirt to commemorate a
decade of night time mountain bike racing!
New race sponsor,
Exposure Lights, will be offering lights for hire through select
participating dealers.
Since its inception, this home-grown festival of cycling in the dark has attracted a loyal band of followers who love the friendly banter, the fast flowing trails, and the incredible atmosphere. Despite boasting a field of well over a 1,000 riders, D2D lives up to its reputation as the most laid back event on the annual enduro calendar.
Each year, crowds of spectators gather at the start line ablaze with millions of watts of lights to see riders off to 12 hours of fun in the dark. Throughout the night, riders weave effortlessly through the tall pines on typical unrelenting Thetford single-track, kept on their toes by occasional bomb holes and fierce competition at the top end of each category.
Fueled by competitiveness and caffeine, this year's riders will battle each other and their own need for sleep, combating unpredictable weather and a challenging course to see who will take the top places as night fades warmly into dawn. Join us and find out what has made this end-of-season enduro so incredibly popular!
For anyone looking to clean out their
spares bin, there'll be a table-top sale in conjunction with this
event. The sale will take place on Saturday from 1300-1600. Tables for
this sale will cost £5. Please contact paul@thetfordmtbracing.com to
reserve a table.
Paul will be leading a pre-ride of the proposed
race course on the evening of June 15th. The ride will depart from
Brandon Country Park at 1900. If you'd like to purchase food after the
ride in the BCP café, please contact the BCP staff on 01842-810185 so
they have a good head count. All are welcome to attend.
Registration
will end Friday, 3 September or when we reach 1000 riders, whichever
comes first. Don't miss out…get your entries in today!
