The West Drayton MBC;s popular Bucks Off Road Sportive returns to the event calendar for the 19th consecutive edition ,when this annual event is run on the 14th May . Although this is not a race the event is challenging, especially the 2 longer distances of 100/125km in the Chiltern Hills and the toughness should not be under estimated .
Route designer Wayne Cook has been busy checking trails and this year to encompass all abilities he has found some more new trails and will be designing 4 distances to chose from, 40 km, 75 Km, 100Km and the epic 125 km in order to appeal to all abilities with the 100 and 125 guaranteed to be a hard day at the office!
The rides are a mixture of single track, wide bridleways and lanes featuring some technical climbs and descents
As always the route will be marked and nearer the date GPX routes will be available to be downloaded
On the 3 longest routes there will be feed stops with lots of cake to keep you going, for the serious ones there will be energy gels.
The 2 longer distance rides start at 9 a.m. and the shorter routes start at 9.30 a.m. The HQ for this event is the Chiltern Sports and Social club at Maple Lodge Rickmansworth where post ride there will be a free drink behind the licensed bar awaiting your return.
On the completion of the ride each rider gets a free memento, as well as a free drink at the bar as well as a free cup of tea.
