RideBike.co.uk laid out probably the best Crow Hill course so far, with new sections in the quarry and tricky stream crossings as well as all the old favourites. They even managed a celebrity in the shape of Dan Lloyd (GCN presenter and ex TDF rider) for the kids podium presentations.

The Elite Male category looks set to be all sewn up by Phillip Pearce (Banjo Cycles) already with another dominant ride, beating Ade Lansley (pedalon) by nearly 8 minutes. Phil is on amazing form taking fifth at the last National race and beating David Fletcher at the last Midlands round. Ade had a good race and held off a fast chasing James Roe (Guernsey Velo) on the last lap.

The Elite Female race saw Cat Ross (WDMBC) get an early lead only to get caught by Merce Pacios (Bike Guess) on the final lap. Carla Haines (Torq) completed the podium.

Will Taylor (Southdowns Bikes) changed his usual tactics and went for the lead from the start to take his first win in Expert. Last round winner, Paul Lloyd (RidesOnAir) was forced to settle for second, with Matt MacDonald in third. Sarah Allen took the Expert Female win.

In the Sport race, Paul Miller (WDMBC) managed to hold off team mate Same Edwards for the win with David Pusey taking third. Natalie Creswick (MuleBar) won the Female Sport race from Rosie Brown and Angela Laycock.

The usual Paul Hopkins and Lewis King battle in the Vets race was split by Sam Humphrey appearing to snatch second from Lewis. Paul again left it to the last lap to drop his challengers and win by 20 seconds.

Course designer, Mark Chadbourne took advantage of the uphill start and a tangle on the start line for Rob Jackson and Nigel Brown to take another comfortable win. Nigel fought from the back of the field to take second with Andy Weaving taking third.

The usual Super Vets of Ian Petherbidge and Andy Roberts were joined by Jeremy Cooper taking third. Danielle Petersmann took the Vet Female win after her recent return from the Cape Epic. Carol Tilley took the Grand Vet win from Maggie Maundrell.

Ollie Stean won the Junior Male race in style from Chris Rothwell. Holly MacMahon won the Junior Female race. Youth winners were Josh Hooper and Lucy Edmunds. Juvenile winners were Maddie Wadsworth and Harry Birchill.

The next round is only two weeks away at Wasing where lots of new features have been added and hopefully it will be a bit warmer! And don't forget its the Regional Championships!
