Race Face Circus of Dirt round two is fast approaching and yet again, they've given us the keys to the toy cupboard at Newham Park.

Organisers Jay and Maddie Horton from Shred Events have taken the prize opportunity to get out and clear some new sections of course as well as prepare a lap that is going to be a pre-cursor to the Bontrager Twentyfour12, a rare opportunity to ride or race on a nice long lap and take in some of Newnham Park's best as well as the new bits that will feature in the epic 24hr event to be held later this summer. In short if you are riding Bontrager Twentyfour12 then this will be your only chance to pre-ride most of the sections that feature in the event.

Round one was a great success, with some tough and thrilling XC racing, but it was the Enduro events that really shone through as a great way to start the day. An opportunity for less competitive riders to get first dibs on an uncluttered track and have an enjoyable couple of hours riding at their own pace around places that you just can't normally ride. The 1 and 2 hour Enduro attracted everyone from hard core riders that had hung up their lady shaves to first timers that wanted to get a feel for racing but without the pressure of the start line.

So what can you expect? After a fortnight containing no less than 16 Bank Holidays, you will have consumed your body weight in Pimms and ice cream so here at Shred Events we think you need a big lap - a biiig lap. 9km of Newnham majesty to be precise, so pack sandwiches.

To pre-empt some of the usual questions - this is highly unlikely to resemble the Nationals course in any way. By the time the BMBS comes to Newnham the UCI regulations will stipulate a 500m lap, so once round the registration marquee and job done.  It might coincidentally vaguely resemble parts of the 24-12 course, but that's a mystery locked away in Martyn Salt's Olympic standard brain.

The team here at Shred Events have spent considerable time dressed as deer, stalking through the park to find every useful and fun path before attacking them with rakes and bow saws to build a course to keep the locals guessing right to the finish line.

The enduro kicks off at 1000, and due to the length of the lap there will be a half lap option, if you decide that another full lap would render you incapacitated. Cogs Bikes will be on hand with tech support and spot prizes.

The traditional xc springs into action at 1300 for all categories. Registration closes at 1230 and we have no time for tardiness or ill-preparedness. Sort your life out now.

Online entry closes Wednesday 27th at midnight - Enter Online Here. This guarantees you fast track number grabbing at registration. If you have a number from round one then bring it. If you've forgotten it / lost it / the dog ate it you will be made to knit one at registration so allow extra time.
