2012 Midlands XC Mtb Series - Round 3, Sunday 15th April - Bolsover & District CC's Birchall Bike Bash, sponsored by RapidRacerProducts and Mt. Zoom
Wave goodbye to the flat courses as the hills of the Peak District loom into view this Sunday for Round 3 - Bolsover & District CC's 'Birchall Bike Bash'. The start/finish arena may be placed in an idyllic setting (with a licensed bar on site), but one look at the topography of the area or overhearing some Vet Men reminiscing about racing Motocross here in the 70′s will give riders a good indication that it may be the Midlands, but once again there are some fantastic climbs and descents waiting in store!
The mix of rooty singletrack, gritstone climbs and mini downhill runs littered with jumps and whoops have made this many people's favourite course of the past two series. A massive redevelopment of the venue is now underway, so the organising team is very grateful to the landowner for allowing us to return for one more play on their trails. Bolsover & District CC have been busy grooming the track, mixing things up to keep the course fresh for 2012. The jury is out on the best wheel size for round 3, but local riders opt for full sus and leave their semi slicks at home unless their name is Adam Craig!
Race day notes:
- Entry on the day is available.
- Camping is available on Saturday night with food and drink available from the bar.
- If you took part at round 1 or 2 don't forget to bring your number board with you! You will be charged for a replacement.
- Gridding is based on current series standings.
- Trophies and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 in every category.
- Spot prizes for the Go-Race category will be awarded at each podium presentation - be there to win!
- Under 13's races are enter on the day only and get underway at 13.00

- The race takes place on private land - no riding allowed other than on race day!

09.00 - Registration/Course Open
10.30 - Race 1 - Junior Men, Youth Men, Veteran Men, Grand Vet Men, All Female Categories, Juvenile
12.45 - Presentation Race 1
13.00 - Go Ride (Under 13′s activities)
14.00 - Race 2 - Elite Men, Expert Men, Masters Men, Sport Men, Go race Men
16.15 - Presentation Race 2
