Orange Monkey are thrilled to announce that for 2011 Orange Monkey will be a UCI registered team, now known as Orange Monkey - Cannondale.

The team has grown at an outstanding pace since its introduction in 2004 and now boasts some of the best sponsors and riders in world cycling.  The team continues to be supported by Cannondale bikes who have stepped up to become a title sponsor.  Mike Cotty, Cannondale's Marketing Manager commented: "It's great to see a lot of hard work and dedication, both on and off the bike, be rewarded as the team progress to UCI status. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the guys, and Cannondale, on the podium at many more races in 2011".

They continue to be supported by long running sponsors Schwalbe Tyres, Bioracer Clothing, KCNC Components and Pyreneescycling.com.  We are also delighted to start new relationships with Zipvit nutrition, Mavic Wheels, Casco Helmets, Squirt Lubricant, XCRacer.com, Pedal Precision, Magura Brakes, CycleOps Power and No Tubes Sealant.  All of these outstanding sponsors give us the very best equipment to compete on the world's biggest stage.

In keeping with the team's strong belief in clean cycling, our riders have joined the anti-doping organization, Bike Pure, and will carry the blue wristband as the symbol of a Pure cyclist.

Orange Monkey - Cannondale will take on a demanding schedule of races both at home and abroad including five of the six World Cup events.

The team have added to their roster with one of South Africa's brightest stars, Rourke Croeser.  A multiple National Champion with a sparkling Palmars, Rourke is sure to bring a new dimension to the team.  Rourke will race Elite U23 alongside Ben Roff who moves up from the Junior category.  Paul Beales and Chris Andrews race Elite and Alex Baker moves up to Junior.

While Rourke begins his early season in South Africa before coming to the UK in May, the rest of the team will head to Cyprus for the opening UCI XC event, the Sunshine Cup Series.

Team Manager, Will Cooper will head the team, along with two mechanics and a full pit set up at both domestic and European races.
