Sunday 23rd February saw the final round (4) of the BikeArt Winter Series 2013/14. Organised by Thetford MTB racing.
In association with Torq Fitness, Chelmer Cycles and P. Tuckwell Ltd. With the help of all manner of groups to ensure a safe well run event.

It showed the drainage abilities of Thetford Forest, which had soaked up the mega rains from the last couple of months, leaving dry tracks on Sunday and none of the deep puddles that us photographers like to get shots from. That's not to say this was a tame track. it's never going to match the likes of Hadleigh but the race organisers know how to incorporate the best that the forest has to offer. It had enough interesting technical sections to shoot, with the added bonus, a lot were close together.

A few of the race categories were sewn-up before the fourth round but the leader's of these, Paul Ashby in the 4-Hour Male 40+ & Laura Sampson, 2-Hour Female 18-39, are not the kind of riders to rest on their laurels. They were both riding in Rnd 4, giving the kind of performance that see's them both on the podium year after year. Laura finishing 00:11:51 in front of second placed Melanie Paddington - Ehf Racing. Paul 00:09:04 in front of Chris Hunter.

In the 2hr Junior Male class, Paddy Atkinson - XCRacer.com/Scimitar, was also not about to relinquish his unbeaten position, finishing a lap in front of Second placed Ross Marriott - Nakedbikes/Haibike/Impsport Rt.

Fun Ride Female Leader, Harley Pell was not present for the fourth round but had already done enough to secure the title.

The 2-Hour Solo Male 18-39 category along with the 2-Hour Solo Male 40+, 2-Hour Solo Female 40+, 4-Hour Solo Male 16-39, Fun Ride Male were all still there for the winning.
