WMBS - Looking forward to Round 2

Cefn Dyrys plays host to Round 2 on Saturday 5th March and one things for sure-the ground will be a lot drier! The venue is very free draining so is the first choice for locals in the wet winter months (even so, if anybody does have any control over the weather, a dry, sunny day would be nice!). Lots of flowing singletrack through the wood combined with forest tracks, singletrack descents and a few climbs each lap should make this a really fun but challenging course. Enter round 2 online>>

As with all the rounds, advance entries close a week before the race (midnight Sat 26th Feb) so you have a week or so to take advantage of the reduced entry fee if you haven't already done so. There will of course be entries on the day as well-just come to the registration tent.

In order to avoid the problems from Round 1, we have made a few changes:

08:30 Registration open

09:00-09:45 Course Open for practice

09:45 Race 1: U8, U10, U12

11:00 Race 2: Youth, Juvenile, Vets, Grand Vets and Women

12:45-13:30 Course Open for practice

13:30 Race 3: Senior Men, Masters Men, Junior Men.

Please note: everything after Race 1 is 30mins later than at Round 1. This is to give us time to get Race 1 presentations completed. It will also give riders in Race 2 or 3 a bit of time for last minute practice on the course.

Secondly, timing. Tap Timing will again be present and have assured me that they will be able to provide a first class service. However, we will also have a very experienced commisaire lap scoring on paper as a backup just in case-there will definitely not be any problems with the result.

Lastly, the series standings will now be calculated on your best two performances from the remaining three races.

We will also make sure that registration is open from 8:30, in the Welsh Cycling EZ-up, and that there are plenty of people manning it so that the waiting time is kept to a minimum. As with all rounds, there will be catering on site-for round 2, it will be provided by Alfresco Event catering.
