Round 2 of the Welsh MTB Series is now only a few days away. The race takes place this Saturday at Cefn Dyrys, Builth Wells.

The course is looking great-a good mix of open, stone-based tracks and fast, flowing singletrack sections through the woods make up the 4.5-5km lap along with a couple of short, technical descents and rooty cambered sections. There is some mud, particularly on the open end of the course, so be prepared to get dirty but there is a solid stone base underneath so it is 100% rideable.

Directions:

Cefn Dyrys is situated above the Builth Wells showground.
The nearest postcode is LD2 3RD. However, Sat Nav's may take you to the wrong side of the hill so follow these directions and the WMBS signs. The entrance to the venue is from the A483. If you are coming from Builth Town Centre, follow the A470 northwards towards the showground. You will come to a Roundabout (at the junction of the A483 and the A470) with the showground in front of you. Turn right at the roundabout, on to the A483, and follow the road for about 1 mile before turning left into Cefn Dyrys.  If you are heading South on the A470, you will reach the same roundabout by the showground but head straight ahead on to the A483.

On Saturday morning, all you will need to do is to find the roundabout in front of the showground and follow the WMBS signs from there.

Numbers:

Just a reminder. If you raced at Round 1, please bring your number with you-that number has been allocated to you for the series. If you don't have the number you will be able to get a replacement at the registration tent but remember, the more replacement numbers we have to give out, the less funds we have to put into the future of the series.

Course Preview:

One of the descents-short but steep. Dual line choice.

Stone tracks cross fields-mud on top but a solid base underneath. 100% of the course is rideable.

Rooty, cambered singletrack features in the second half of the course.

Steep drop into a cambered singletrack descent
