An even bigger turnout of 157 riders for this round meant we ran out of cakes and coffee cups for the first time! Autumn was in the air and temperatures have dropped but the racing was hot, as the big teams of Pedal On, WDMBC and Banjo all showed up with full sides to fill the podiums.

Simon Ernest claimed the top spot in the Elite race after recovering from man flu. Good luck to Simon in the Three Peaks Cross race next week. Owen Pattinson took second and Phillip Bowley third on a cross bike for Owen's Cycles.

Phillip Pearce scored the fastest lap time of 12:40 in the Expert race, with Matthew Taylor and Lucien Bogdan Anghelus some way back.

Paul Lloyd won the Masters race with a time worthy of second in the Expert race. Paul Brennan and Paul Miller completed the podium. A good day for people named Paul obviously.

Reg Pay stormed the Junior race by over three minutes leaving Cameron Thompson and Nicholas Try to sprint it out for the final podium spots.

Jason Emery moved up from second at Round 1 to win the Veterans race from Sean Scott and last round winner Daran Blackwell.

Pedal On again turned the podium round in the Grand Vets with Andy Cracknell taking the win from Rob Jackson.

Morgan Jones rode with a flat tyre to fight off Liam Keynes to win the Sport race again. Hayley Fyans own the Sport Female race with Samantha Jones winning the Veteran Female race

The Under 9s race is getting more popular with a field of 25 riders, some as young as 2, tackling the tricky mini lap near the arena. Ben Donald and Elise Hawkins took the honours. Under 11s saw a podium switch as George Fowkes beat Nathan Cracknell this time, with Zoe Goodhand taking the female race.

Youth, Juvenile and Under 13s categories tackle the whole course, and Martin Blackman, Ben Healy, Katie Rodda, Nathan George and Grace Parry won their races.

Next round is this Sunday 5th October. And of course this beautiful weather is going to hold on for us. Pre-entry closes 5:30pm Saturday for that last minute decision.
