The Southern XC will be back for 2016!

Now the dust has settled after the final round of the 2015 series I thought it would be a great time to confirm that the South’s premier cross country series will certainly be back for 2016. SMBC (the team behind the Southern XC) has been running the series since its inception and they have decided it’s time to take a step back - understandably they want to spend some time with their families, riding their bikes and apparently they all have proper jobs to do too!

Before I tell you a little bit about the 2016 series I would like to thank Steve, Trevor, Paul, Murph and their dedicated team of helpers for all of their effort over the years. Like lots of you, I’ve enjoyed the challenging courses and great organisation so I can’t thank them enough for the hard work and effort they have put into our hobby.

Right…on to next year! 2016 will be a year of consolidation; we’ll strive to match the high standards set by SMBC at each round, of which there will be 6. The venues are still to be confirmed, as are the dates, but it is looking like the series will start in April and be done before the school summer holidays start at the end of July. There will be some venues that you have been to in recent years and hopefully a couple of old faces will reappear. As soon as we have confirmed information for the 2016 series a press release will be sent.

If you have any questions, queries, suggestions or comments please drop us a line to southernxc@outlook.com . This is a temporary address while we are sorting mail domains and websites out.

See you soon
